Wolfsburg will not be listening to offers for Julian Draxler this winter, their director of sport Klaus Allofs has said.
Draxler tried to force a way out of the Bundesliga club in the summer when he told the Bild newspaper he was intent on leaving, but Wolfsburg released a statement reminding the player of his contractual obligations.
“There is no need to talk about it,” Allofs told the dpa agency.
“I am quite sure that Julian Draxler is not going to say something like that again.”
However, in a separate interview, Allofs left the door open to Draxler moving on next summer.
“The story doesn’t help him, or Wolfsburg. It was catastrophic for the player,” Allofs told German TV channel Sport1.
“We may evaluate the situation differently, and may do things differently next time.
“Does this mean letting him leave? Potentially.”
Draxler has just returned to training after missing their last two games with a muscular injury. He is in line for a comeback in their relegation battle at Ingolstadt on Saturday.
With just two wins all season, Wolfsburg are only four points above the Bavarians, who are in the bottom two.
