Rotimi Akeredolu, the governor-elect of Ondo state has said he will not institute probe against the administration of outgoing Governor Olusegun Mimiko.
Akeredolu speaking with State House correspondents after meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari onWednesday, November 30, said that “My own is not to institute any probe of last regime and that is what President Buhari has done.
“But if we find out that wrongs were committed, we have enough laws of the land to take care of people who have committed wrong. As we start our work as we go ahead if there is any semblance of Dasukigate at the state, the law will take its course that is different from probing. We’ll follow what Mr. President is doing at the centre.”
He also said there may be need to review some campaign promises when faced with realities. Mimiko in his congratulatory message to Akeredolu said:
“It is incumbent upon me as governor to facilitate a smooth transition between my government and the incoming one. I will, to this end, provide the ambience for a smooth and seamless transition process.”
